Teenage students learning English can experience much more than textbooks, vocabulary, and grammar. Their English lessons can also be filled with friendship, laughter, competition, responsibility, and plenty of memorable moments.
آموزش زبان انگلیسی نوجوانان می‌تواند تجربه‌ای بسیار فراتر از کتاب‌های درسی، واژگان و گرامر باشد. کلاس‌های زبان انگلیسی نوجوانان می‌تواند سرشار از دوستی، خنده، رقابت، مسئولیت‌پذیری و لحظات به‌یادماندنی باشد.
Meet Parsa and Sam, two teenagers who are almost the same age. They are only one year apart, and both are my private English students. Because their English levels are different, I teach them separately. This gives each of them the opportunity to learn at the right pace and focus on what they need.
با پارسا و سام آشنا شوید؛ دو نوجوان که تقریباً هم‌سن هستند. فقط یک سال با هم اختلاف سنی دارند و هر دو از شاگردان خصوصی زبان انگلیسی من هستند. چون سطح زبان انگلیسی آن‌ها متفاوت است، آن‌ها را جداگانه تدریس می‌کنم. این کار به هر کدام از آن‌ها فرصت می‌دهد با سرعت مناسب خودشان یاد بگیرند و روی چیزهایی که نیاز دارند تمرکز کنند.
Both boys are hardworking, polite, energetic, friendly, responsible, and genuinely interested in learning. They also have many interests in common, especially computer games. They love spending time together, and because they are close in age, there is always a little friendly competition between them!
هر دو پسر سخت‌کوش، مؤدب، پرانرژی، صمیمی و مسئولیت‌پذیر هستند و واقعاً به یادگیری علاقه دارند. آن‌ها علایق مشترک زیادی هم دارند، به‌خصوص بازی‌های کامپیوتری. آن‌ها دوست دارند با هم وقت بگذرانند و چون تقریباً هم‌سن هستند، همیشه کمی رقابت دوستانه بینشان وجود دارد!
Two Teenage Students Learning English
Parsa often spends time at Sam’s house. When that happens, they can become so absorbed in having fun together that everything else seems less important for a while—including sleep! And that is when arranging their English lessons can become a funny little challenge.
پارسا اغلب در خانه سام وقت می‌گذراند. وقتی این اتفاق می‌افتد، آن‌قدر سرگرم وقت‌گذرانی و خوش‌گذرانی با یکدیگر می‌شوند که برای مدتی همه‌چیز دیگر، از جمله خواب، کم‌اهمیت‌تر به نظر می‌رسد! و درست همین‌جاست که هماهنگ کردن کلاس‌های زبان انگلیسی‌شان می‌تواند به یک چالش کوچک و بامزه تبدیل شود.
Sometimes I find myself wondering: Where is Parsa? Is Sam awake? Are they ready for their English lesson? Is anyone answering the phone? 😄
گاهی خودم را در حال فکر کردن می‌بینم: پارسا کجاست؟ سام بیدار است؟ برای کلاس زبان انگلیسی آماده‌اند؟ اصلاً کسی تلفن را جواب می‌دهد؟ 😄
learning English: The 3 a.m. Message by teenage boy

آموزش زبان انگلیسی نوجوانان می‌تواند تجربه‌ای بسیار فراتر از کتاب‌های درسی، واژگان و گرامر باشد. آموزش زبان انگلیسی برای نوجوانان می‌تواند سرشار از دوستی، خنده، رقابت، مسئولیت‌پذیری و لحظات به‌یادماندنی باشد.
I usually wake up very early, so one morning I sent Parsa a reminder about our English lesson for the next day. It was around 3 a.m. when he replied! I was completely surprised and asked, “Are you still awake?”
من معمولاً خیلی زود از خواب بیدار می‌شوم، بنابراین یک روز صبح، برای پارسا یادآوری کلاس زبان انگلیسی‌مان در روز بعد را فرستادم. وقتی جواب داد، حدود ساعت سه صبح بود! واقعاً تعجب کردم و پرسیدم: «هنوز بیداری؟»
Then he disappeared! Apparently, he went back to sleep, and by the time of our lesson, he was understandably very sleepy and tired. It was one of those moments when I had to smile and think, “Well… sleep can wait, but perhaps not forever!” 😄
بعد دیگر خبری از او نشد! ظاهراً دوباره خوابیده بود و تا زمان کلاس، همان‌طور که می‌شد انتظار داشت، خیلی خواب‌آلود و خسته بود. یکی از همان لحظاتی بود که مجبور شدم لبخند بزنم و با خودم بگویم: «خب… خواب می‌تواند صبر کند، اما شاید نه برای همیشه!» 😄
Discipline, Responsibility, and a Reserved Swimming Time when you need top learn English
Sam is normally very punctual and organized. One day, when Parsa was staying at his house, Sam told me that if I scheduled the English lesson later, he might not be able to attend. At first, I wondered why changing the time a little would be such a problem.
سام معمولاً بسیار وقت‌شناس و منظم است. یک روز که پارسا در خانه او بود، سام به من گفت اگر کلاس زبان انگلیسی را کمی دیرتر برگزار کنم، ممکن است نتواند در کلاس شرکت کند. ابتدا با خودم فکر کردم چرا تغییر کمی در زمان کلاس باید چنین مشکلی ایجاد
کند.
Then I remembered the swimming pool in their apartment complex. It is not enough simply to decide to go swimming; the pool has to be reserved for a specific time. Sam had already reserved a swimming time for himself and Parsa. So there it was: the English lesson, their time together, the swimming reservation, and Sam’s carefully planned schedule all had to fit together!
بعد یاد استخر مجتمع مسکونی‌شان افتادم. فقط تصمیم گرفتن برای رفتن به استخر کافی نیست؛ استخر باید برای یک زمان مشخص رزرو شود. سام از قبل یک زمان برای شنا کردن خودش و پارسا رزرو کرده بود. بنابراین همه‌چیز باید با هم هماهنگ می‌شد: کلاس زبان انگلیسی، زمانی که آن‌ها با هم بودند، زمان رزرو استخر و برنامه‌ریزی دقیق سام!
Responsibility for learning English Even When They Are Tired
One thing I really appreciate about both boys is that, even when they are extremely sleepy or tired, they still try to be responsible. They want to attend their English lessons, participate, and show that they are ready to learn. Sometimes I even make sure they have eaten something before we start!
یکی از چیزهایی که واقعاً در هر دوی آن‌ها تحسین می‌کنم این است که حتی وقتی خیلی خواب‌آلود یا خسته هستند، باز هم سعی می‌کنند مسئولیت‌پذیر باشند. آن‌ها می‌خواهند در کلاس‌های زبان انگلیسی شرکت کنند، مشارکت داشته باشند و نشان دهند که برای یادگیری آماده‌اند. گاهی حتی قبل از شروع کلاس مطمئن می‌شوم که چیزی خورده باشند!
And when a lesson cannot be completed properly, they are determined to make it up on another day during the same week. That kind of commitment says a lot about their sense of responsibility and discipline.
و وقتی یک جلسه کلاس نمی‌تواند به‌درستی کامل شود، آن‌ها مصمم هستند که آن را در روز دیگری از همان هفته جبران کنند. این میزان تعهد، چیزهای زیادی درباره احساس مسئولیت و نظم آن‌ها نشان می‌دهد.
Friendship, Competition, and a Lot of Laughter
Parsa has another very special quality: he is incredibly funny. He can make me laugh out loud during our English lessons, and that is one of the things I enjoy most about teaching him. During the week he stayed at Sam’s house, however, all that tiredness meant that there were fewer of those hilarious moments!
پارسا یک ویژگی خاص دیگر هم دارد: او فوق‌العاده بامزه است. در طول کلاس‌های زبان انگلیسی می‌تواند کاری کند که با صدای بلند بخندم و این یکی از چیزهایی است که در تدریس او بیش از همه دوست دارم. البته در هفته‌ای که در خانه سام بود، آن خستگی باعث شده بود از آن لحظات خنده‌دار همیشگی کمی کمتر داشته باشیم!
At the same time, Parsa and Sam have a lovely relationship. They enjoy being together, they compete with each other, they share interests, and they clearly value their time together. Their friendship makes their teenage years more colorful—and sometimes makes my teaching schedule a little more interesting, too! 😄
در عین حال، پارسا و سام رابطه بسیار خوبی با یکدیگر دارند. آن‌ها از بودن در کنار هم لذت می‌برند، با یکدیگر رقابت می‌کنند، علایق مشترکی دارند و مشخص است که برای زمانی که با هم می‌گذرانند ارزش قائل‌اند. دوستی آن‌ها دوران نوجوانی‌شان را رنگارنگ‌تر می‌کند و البته گاهی برنامه تدریس من را هم کمی جالب‌تر می‌کند! 😄
More Than Just Learning English
Teaching teenagers is never only about textbooks, vocabulary, grammar, or English lessons. Every student brings a different personality, a different story, and a different kind of energy into the classroom.
تدریس به نوجوانان هیچ‌وقت فقط درباره کتاب‌های درسی، واژگان، گرامر یا کلاس زبان انگلیسی نیست. هر دانش‌آموز شخصیت متفاوت، داستان متفاوت و نوع متفاوتی از انرژی را با خود وارد کلاس می‌کند.
Parsa and Sam remind me that teenage students learning English can grow and learn alongside friendship, laughter, competition, responsibility, and everyday teenage life. They are both capable young people with so much potential, and I truly believe they have a bright future ahead of them.
پارسا و سام به من یادآوری می‌کنند که نوجوانانی که زبان انگلیسی یاد می‌گیرند می‌توانند در کنار دوستی، خنده، رقابت، مسئولیت‌پذیری و زندگی روزمره نوجوانی رشد کنند و یاد بگیرند. هر دوی آن‌ها جوانانی توانمند با ظرفیت‌های فراوان هستند و من واقعاً باور دارم که آینده روشنی در انتظارشان است.
Perhaps one of the greatest joys of teaching teenagers is that the classroom is never only about learning English. Young students like Parsa and Sam bring so much energy, curiosity, humor, and enthusiasm for learning that they remind us that life can still be a much better place.
شاید یکی از بزرگ‌ترین لذت‌های تدریس به نوجوانان این باشد که کلاس هیچ‌وقت فقط درباره یادگیری زبان انگلیسی نیست. نوجوان‌هایی مثل پارسا و سام با انرژی، کنجکاوی، شوخ‌طبعی و شوق یادگیری‌شان آن‌قدر زندگی را به کلاس می‌آورند که به ما یادآوری می‌کنند زندگی هنوز هم می‌تواند جای خیلی بهتری باشد.
